MUN: simulation performance mode
An EMUN (European Model United Nations ) simulation usually takes place over a three-day period for a total of five travel days and is made up of several phases.
The first phase consists of registration and assignment of roles . Students register to participate in the simulation and are assigned to the European Union member countries they will represent during the event. At this stage students have the opportunity to prepare for the simulation by studying their country's position on different issues and preparing speeches and documents.
The second phase is the trading session . Students gather in thematic groups or in plenaries, where they discuss and negotiate current issues , such as peace and security, human rights, sustainable development and international cooperation. During this phase, students have the opportunity to practice their negotiation, problem solving and leadership skills as they try to reach a common agreement on different issues.
The third phase is the drafting of official documents . Participants draft official documents, such as resolutions and recommendations, which are then submitted to the General Assembly for approval. This phase allows students to practice their skills in writing and drafting official documents.
Finally, the fourth stage is the closing ceremony . All participants gather for the simulation's closing ceremony, where approved resolutions and recommendations are presented and lessons learned during the event are reflected on. This phase represents a moment of sharing and reflection on the lived experience .
Overall, an EMUN simulation is an intense and educational experience for students, helping them develop important skills and gain greater awareness of global problems and international issues.
MUN scholarships
The scholarships for the EMUN (European Model United Nations) project are an opportunity for students who wish to participate in simulations but who do not have the means to do so. MUN scholarships are awarded to students selected based on specific criteria and can cover participation expenses, such as registration, accommodation and transportation.
The criteria for awarding the scholarships include the student's evaluation, his academic commitment, his active participation in volunteer projects and his passion for international and global issues. Students selected to receive a scholarship are notified by email or post.
For several years now, European People has aimed to provide education complementary to school and university education, preparing over 10,000 students from all over the world on current issues and job opportunities in the international field. The association operates through various projects, such as NHSMUN or the International Simulation of the European Parliament and offers the opportunity for many students to take part in international forums organized in institutional contexts in Italy and abroad, through simulations of the work of the United Nations and the European Parliament.
The association's goal is to involve the most promising students and prepare them for international job opportunities . For this reason, more than 20 scholarships have been made available to encourage the participation of the most deserving students in the simulations that will take place in New York, Brussels and Paris.
To obtain a scholarship, students will have to pass a multiple choice test consisting of 60 questions and an evaluation interview in English with the European People teaching staff . Students who, during the interview, demonstrate a strong motivation to participate, an interest in international issues and a good level of knowledge of the English language will be selected. Furthermore, any membership of associations and previous international experience such as, for example, Erasmus, volunteering abroad, internships, etc. will be considered as a plus.
Overall, EMUN project scholarships are a valuable opportunity for students who wish to participate in simulations to gain valuable experience and develop important skills without having to worry about the costs associated with participation.
